The Korean alphabet is Hangul, written 한글; North Korea calls it Chosŏn'gŭl. These pages are from the Hunminjeongeum Haerye, the 1446 book that explained the new letters and why they were made. Hangul has 24 basic letters, and with their combinations 40 are in use today; this course teaches all 40.
